Laptop Notebook Computer

Peter Gitundu asked:

One thing for sure is that no one can live without air. This days it has become the same with computers for most people cannot do without them for they depend entirely on them. Also almost everyone uses a computer on his daily activities even without the desktops or the new in town the laptop notebook computer, hell even a mobile phone is a small computer.

Working is now being done anywhere one chooses because these computers are convenient enough that they can be carried to any place anytime and they perform the same kind of work as the fossils desktops. The immense desktops are slowly becoming extinct even though they get work done, they lack portability.

The combination of internet freedom and the portable laptop notebook computer has given us the ability to venture into anything that we desire at any part of the world with no limits. Business institutions are offering internet access as a way to get more.

The notebook computers come with handy a bag making them even more convenient because the hassling of a bag or the expense is already covered. If you are wondering about your entertainment I would say don’t worry. This is due to its one of the many added advantages of a DVD option. A working mate of mine was posted to a very remote area why there was no cable. As he went he bought himself the notebook computer just out of curiosity. That night we chatted on the messenger as he watched a moving, I also discovered that it had a rechargeable battery!

The laptop notebook computer is a plain illustration that goes to explain of how our future would be. To any person in thought of owning a computer I would advice on a notebook computer and there would be no regrets.

Mini Notes: Notebooks and Laptops That Are Ultraslim, Ultraportable, and Powerful

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009
Alan Jacobson asked:

Mini notes are notebooks and laptops that are half the size of traditional machines, but incredibly powerful and ultra-portable. They are exploding in popularity in four markets:

- Rural areas around the globe that are cut off from new sources of information such as updated textbooks and up-to-the-minute news turn to these devices to solve these problems.

- Many poor areas have both the above problem and also the problem of families not being able to afford a full fledged computer.

- Consumers in the U.S., Japan, and elsewhere often have computing needs that are much less than what a large and expensive computer delivers. Groups such as children, stay at home parents, and senior citizens may want something easy, cheap portable, and light. Mini notes are perfect.

- Many families in wealthier countries are finding that they need almost one computer to every family member. However, to save space and money, and for maximum convenience, they buy one or two large models and the rest are mini-laptops or mini-notebooks.

What has happened over the past few years to truly make mini laptops and mini notebooks so popular is that manufacturers no longer have to strip down a lot of the functionality of a larger model to get to a price and size that attracts the consumer. In fact, most of the current mini notes have the functionality of the fully powerful notebooks and laptops of just a few years ago. They have a screen much larger than a mobile phone or PDA, though slightly smaller than a full sized laptop.

The target price for 2010 many manufacturers have for mini notes is below $100. They also hope to bring their weight below a pound (they are currently only about a pound and a half). Whether a consumer wants to access e-mail, watch video, listen to MP3s, browse the internet, take pictures and video, or learn from a virtual textbook, mini notes are already revolutionary even before they take these exciting future steps.

For the more technologically minded, here is a brief synopsis of the features of the technology involved with mini notebooks and mini laptops:

- Built-in Devices: Wireless LAN antenna, Bluetooth antenna

- Dimensions (average): Width 6-7 in, Depth 5- 6 in, Height 1-1.4 in, Weight 1.5-1.75 lbs

- Processor: Intel A110 / 800 MHz

- Operating Systems: Varied, but include Windows products such as Vista

- Software: Many possibilities including standard Office products, photo and video editing, financial, etc.

- Cache Memory: Installed Size usually around 512 KB

- RAM: Installed Size .5-1 GB

- Hard Drive: 20-60 GB

Mini notes, mini-laptops, and mini-notebooks will continue to evolve, but don’t wait. Very powerful, ultra-portable, and inexpensive models are already available from major manufacturers.

Tips to Reduce Cost on a Notebook

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009
Roberto Sedycias asked:

The technology used for manufacturing laptops and notebooks are advancing at a neck-breaking speed. Since companies are spending a fortune on the hi-tech research and development of the laptops, their prices can`t drop beyond a limit even if their sizes will. Laptops or notebooks are still being considered as high-end and expensive products. This article will guide you how to reduce you cost while buying a new notebook.

Here are some tips to consider for reducing the cost of that new notebook:

Overall Brand Quality:

Don`t compromise too much on this aspect. Bigger brands tend to offer better services. Hence, if you skimp on this aspect, then might have to take a big risk. However, there are some sites available on the internet that offers effective tools to find the best deal.

Processor:

It is always wise to pick the fasted processor. This is something you should never plan to upgrade later as doing so will require some addition cost. Compromising on this aspect is a bad idea as this has direct bearing on the speed of your work.

Memory:

You can save some money here because you can always upgrade the memory of your laptop as and when you need so. For example, getting 512 MB in the first memory slot (DIMM) will let you add an additional 512MB (in a second memory slot) later on for a total of 1GB, which means you will still make use of the 512MB that came with it.

Screen:

This is a personal consideration which is based on your use. Usually, older eyes prefer lower resolution of a less expensive screen. However, quite a few notebooks have 1 or 2 native resolutions that look good. But, these are high resolutions and most people over 40 find them difficult to read. Hence, to be on the safer side, you must compare before swipe your credit card.

Hard Drive:

If you want to skimp here, do so in terms of size but not speed. Insist on 7200 rpm and do not be influenced by varying views on this.

Video card:

Using a top video card makes sense when you are into graphics work, enjoying your favorite flicks or using Windows Vista with aero interface. Then you should consider including this top hardware feature seriously. However, if you are not doing any of them, then you might save a lot on this aspect.

Warranty:

Since repairing laptops are an expensive ball game, the longer the warranty, the more secured you are. Hence, if you think you will be able to skimp on this aspect, then it`s purely your call.

Operating system:

This is one area where you can substantially cut cost on you laptop. There is no point in paying extra for Windows Vista Ultimate if you are not going to use its features in your daily application. However, skimping down to Vista Basic would not be a good idea if you are planning to use the cool Aero interface. Hence, compare before you buy.

While buying a laptop, compare its cost with its performance. A laptop could cost you more if it is a high performer. However, you should consider the features you are going to use on a regular basis. It is pointless pay extra for the sake of features that are of little use to your purpose. Hence, consider your needs and pick the features you require to be there in your notebook. This will save you from hesitation and making potential errors while buying a laptop.

What Has Higher Price, Notebook or Data?

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009
Matjaz asked:

What do you think has higher price? Is it your notebook or your data? It is not too easy to say, but maybe it is too easy. You can evaluate your notebook price, but I don’t think you can evaluate the price of your data and also it is very different price for you and for your company. If you will prevent your data in notebook you will make first from many steps of security awareness. What else? If somebody wants your data and your data was encoded, it also can force to steal your notebook. Then you have no data and you have no notebook. If you encode your data well, everything should be OK except the price of your notebook. It was very nice that you encode the data but did you back up them? No? And what do you think is the price of the data if it is one year of your work in your company? Data are very important and to be indolent to their security and back up is on from the biggest unprofessional mistake you can do.

A Notebook PC consists of similar functionalities that a computer is comprised of. It is equipped with a LCD display, a keyboard and a touchpad which is equivalent of mouse. Its display primarily ranges from 13 inches to 17 inches, weighs between 1.4 to 5.4 kilograms and thickness ranges between 18-38mm . The laptop comes in folding design. Guides to Choose the Best Gaming Notebook Computers

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009
Twinomugisha Charles asked:

is in purchasing the one that are optimised for playing games. This might sound very obvious but you have no idea how many people purchase a notebook intending to use it for game related reasons then decide later that they need to upgrade it. At the end pf the day it will be very expensive but when you use our knowledge, you may save good money. On this article we shall guide you briefly how to choose the best gaming notebook so that you can enjoy your Games.

Best Gaming Laptop Features

I use a computer for more than 10 hours per day to perform different tasks and for that matter I know what you pass through especially when you are a gamer……Games are graphics intense applications. So you need something to do the job correctly. But since we are dealing with laptops, you must keep in mind that the faster the laptop the!

For you to enjoy your gaming you must put the following under consideration.

• The RAM: the rule of thumb in laptop gaming circle is: the more RAM you have, the better. I would venture say that 256 KB is the absolute minimum you should settle for. Any ram less than that will not perform better.

• Laptop video card. Without the perfect one, your gaming option will not be to optimum .If you are serious gamer, you should not settle for the cheap video cards that come standard with most laptops. By the way cheap things are always expensive because you will end up buying another or upgrading which comes costly.

• Huge hard drive storage. Games are heavy and needs a lot of space .So, you need a more than decent hard drive to store those games. One pointer here: the faster the hard drive, the more improved the whole gaming experience is. I would say that if you can get a 7200 RPM hard drive, buy it without asking because this is the best for gamers.

• A large visual area.

Don’t be adventurous like me who wanted to explore these small laptops with gaming… I once wanted to be “Mr Superman” and used a 10? monitor laptop to play a game on. It sucks… Then I tried out a 17? Powerbook and was in heaven. But, a 17? screen notebook computer can be a pain to move with around. So, to compromise, do check out the standard 15? notebooks.

Anything good to gaming must come at a cost, but if you want to enjoy your games on the laptop you must pay for those cost… and where do you expect to get anything good without a price?

Upgrading My Notebook: Search for Online Coupons

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009
David J Stack asked:

ike to have a new Dell notebook. As a beat writer for a locally published arts and culture magazine, I have been using an HP Compaq Presario – a trusty old laptop, running on Open Office, with an Alzheimer-like penchant for missing, dysfunctional, or selective memory. It freezes during Skype calls or mind-mapping sessions. It shuts down when the deadliest deadline is minutes away, and acts up when I am E-mailing a story to my editors. It’s got to be replaced soon, I should think, which is why I am sitting here at the coffee shop in a furious caffeine-induced pursuit for Dell online coupons.

I have used a Dell laptop before. A Latitude D620: the grainy grey finish of the lid surface made me feel important, and the shimmering silver-tone Dell logo made me feel even more important. I had received it from an ex-employer who wanted all his subordinates to travel, work, and play in style – in corporate or business style, that is. To which, of course, I had no objection. Though I was a beat writer (still am and will always be), the road-ready notebook gave me at least a sense of security. It gave me an air of a refined, polished professional – and the impression of being terribly busy, in the “in-demand” sort of way. That I wasn’t just a starving artist, and that I kept up with trends, and could afford, once in awhile, electronic gadgets encased in magnesium alloy.

I think that “once in awhile” has arrived again; it’s time for me to acquire a new electronic gadget encased in magnesium alloy. You can only imagine how long it took for me to save up for a laptop, given my compulsive shopping sprees! Anyway, I have bookmarked and copied online coupons for Dell Inspiron and Latitude notebook models, towards which my preferences are pointing; but if I decide that online coupons for other brands would help me gain even greater savings, then I will of course consider all the options.

Lenovo, I found out, is offering a Buy Now, Pay Later option – that is, if you use their online coupons. And on their website Apple is advertising a powerful and customized MacBook Pro, with free shipping. HP is also marking some of their business notebook models with a discounted price tag. Dell, of course, remains the priority. My first positive impression from using the brand continues to last.

You have no idea how important my laptop is to me. If it crashes, then I burn. I use it to stay connected, write my stories, file them to my editors, edit and write captions for my photographer’s shots, read other news stories, keep in touch with friends and family: you know, basically let it be where my whole life depends. It’s not surprising that my current HP Compaq Presario dear has broken down in front of me. See? To upgrade my lifestyle –and save money in the process, using online coupons– I am still relying on the notebook. For that’s how and where I make my living.
